چکیده

Terahertz functional devices with high-Q factor play an important role in spectral sensing, security imaging, and wireless communication. The reported terahertz based on the electromagnetic induction transparency (EIT) effect cannot meet needs of practical applications due to low-Q factor. Therefore, increase Q-factor resonance, researchers introduced concept bound state continuum (BIC). In quasi-BIC state, metasurface can be excited by incident wave provide resonance a because condition that resonant BIC is orthogonal not satisfied. split ring resonator (SRR) one most representative artificial microstructures field, it shows great potential BIC. this paper, classical single-SRR array structure, we combine large small SRR change mode inner outer changing radius SRR. parameter-tuned verified continuous modulation parameters system could make pair states strongly coupled, coherent cancellation will cause linewidth disappear, thus forming Compared symmetry-protected BIC, dual-SRR designed paper has multiple accidental BICs realizes multichannel multiplexing X-polarization Y-polarization. It provides brilliant platform for high-sensitivity optical sensor array, low threshold laser efficient harmonic generation.

Terahertz polarization imaging.

We present a new method to measure the polarization state of a terahertz pulse by using a modified electro-optic sampling setup. To illustrate the power of this method, we show two examples in which the knowledge of the polarization of the terahertz pulse is essential for interpreting the results: spectroscopy measurements on polystyrene foam and terahertz images of a plastic coin. Both measure...

Polarization-independent active metamaterial for high-frequency terahertz modulation.

We present a polarization-independent metamaterial design for the construction of electrically tunable terahertz (THz) devices. The implemented structure consists of an array of gold crosses fabricated on top of an n-doped gallium arsenide (GaAs) layer. Utilizing THz time-domain spectroscopy, we show that the electric resonance and thus the transmission properties of the cross structure can be ...

Terahertz two-dimensional high-Q photonic crystal waveguide cavities.

Numerical simulations were used to design a variety of high-Q resonant cavities for integration into a terahertz 2D photonic crystal waveguide. After fabrication, the transmission characteristics of each integrated cavity were explored. These photonic waveguide-coupled cavities demonstrate resonances with linewidths approaching 10 GHz. The results compare favorably to previous observations of r...

Spectroscopy of terahertz radiation using high- Q photonic crystal microcavities

We report observation of high-Q resonance in the photoresponse of a detector embedded in the 2D photonic crystal slab (PCS) microcavity illuminated by terahertz radiation. The detector and PCS are fabricated from a single GaAs wafer in a unified process. The influence of the period of PCS lattice, microcavity geometry, and detector location on the resonant photoresponse is studied. The resonanc...
